Semaglutide is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic weight management. As an API, it is intended for further processing into finished dosage forms such as subcutaneous injections. Semaglutide exerts its pharmacological effects through multiple mechanisms:

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM):
Semaglutide is used in adult patients with type 2 diabetes as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control.
